Webb City basketball player Barron Duda told Prep Sports in a recent interview that “My favorite part about being on this team is how close all of us are. After the games that are on Friday we will go out to eat as a team and as the season goes on we will only get closer”. In fact, some of Duda’s favorite moments are “going to the Oklahoma State team camp over the past two summers. Spending the time with the team is some of the most fun I have had”.
According to Duda “The teammate that has had and will leave the biggest impression on me is Omari Jackson. Him and I have been playing sports together since the 4th grade and he has been a good teammate and a good friend”. While the pair have been playing Barron said that he has learned “to be able to take constructive criticism and to improve from it”.
Duda shared that as the year progresses he hopes to “win districts, finish in the top of the COC, and to finish the season with 20+ wins”. Some words that have continued to push him along the way have been the best advice he has ever received. He explained to us that the advice was to “not worry about what you can’t control and if you can control it then there is no reason to worry”. Duda, who had the chance to coach a youth basketball team in November, took a moment to express that what else motivate him specifically his parents. “My Dad and Mom inspire me. They have always put me and my sister first and have done what is best for us” said Duda.
