Webb City athlete Micah Brouwer spoke with Prep Sports in a recent interview saying “my favorite part of the Webb City swim team is the camaraderie between all the swimmers. We don’t have any drama or problems with anyone. Going to practice is much easier everyday because I have people to lean on”.
Brouwer told Prep Sports “The teammate that had the biggest impression on me has to be my sister. We swam on the same club team while growing up and she has always pushed me to be better, not only better at swim but just an overall better person. She works very hard for everything she has and is always striving for more”.
According to Brouwer “I am currently applying to a flight school to obtain an Airline Transport Pilots Certification to fly airplanes for a living. I hope to be close to that goal by the end of next year”. In the last year, however, Brouwer shared “the most fun I’ve had has to be golfing with my friends over the summer and hanging out after football games on Friday nights”.
Brouwer participates in his churches monthly works at the “Watered Gardens” of Joplin and although he enjoys it his favorite memory comes from “all the over night trips we do as a swim team. I always looked forward to being able to hang out all together as a team and have some fun during the season”.
