Webb City’s Stephanie Taylor – Mom of the Month – Presented by Roderique Insurance

Webb City football mom Stephanie Taylor was nominated by Coach McFarland as the team’s Mom of the Month. Sharing “I would put our Webb City Football Mom’s group up against any football mom’s group in the country. Our moms are awesome and do so much for our players and our program. Stephanie is a mom who works in the high school so she is easily available to help when needed. She does a great job of communicating with our other moms and is always offering up her time to help our coaches out. We will definitely miss Stephanie when her son graduates at the end of this upcoming school year.”

Following her nomination Prep Sports conducted an interview with Taylor in which she said “I am very involved in my kids’ athletic careers I never miss their activities. I am always in the stands cheering not only for my kid but for others as well. I will always be my kids’ #1 fan in the stands.” Taylor, who has sat on the board of the Webb City Booster Club for nine years, says “It is very important to prioritize my kids’ activities because I think sports teach your child how to handle victory as well as defeat with grace. Kids learn that success involves effort and that setbacks or losses are opportunities for growth. I feel that kids who participate in sports develop qualities like sportsmanship, determination, resilience, and perseverance. These are valuable traits not just in sports but also life in general as well.”

Taylor herself graduated from Webb City High School in 1995. Where she “played volleyball for 3 years, basketball for 4 years, and softball her senior year of high school – the first year WC had softball. Then, she went on to play Softball at Crowder College for Coach Millie Gilion.” Now she is a teacher at WCHS and has been with WCR7 for 11 years. In her free time, she coaches her daughter’s travel softball team and attends her children’s games.

Taylor told Prep Sports she married her high school sweetheart 24 years ago, Brent Taylor. Together they have three children Jackson, Colton, and Addyson. “Jackson is 21 and graduated from WCHS where he played football for 4 years and won 2 State Championships, as well as 4 years of Wrestling. Currently, he is a Senior at MSSU.””Colton is a Senior at WCHS where he has participated in 4 years of football with 1 State Championship and 4 years of wrestling having gone to State in 2022 for Wrestling.””Addyson is in 6th grade at WCMS and plays basketball and softball.”

“I love how our town of WC is so supportive of everything that happens in our community. We are blessed to live in such a great community where everyone loves the town of WC.” said Taylor
