Webb City football player Jace Jones told Prep Sports in a recent interview that “becoming an all state player is definitely one of my top goals this year, as well as being able to say I won a state championship as a senior.”
When speaking about his team Jones said “The culture of Webb City is something you can’t find everywhere. From its community members, to its teachers, and the overall atmosphere of the town it’s just a fantastic place to be. But the way our coaches show us how to be better men and put this culture into the way we practice, the way we play, and the way we carry ourselves is without a doubt my favorite aspect of being a Webb City Cardinal.”
He went on to share about the teammate he has been impacted by the most saying “Jonah Spieker is one of the hardest working players people I know, on and off the field. He goes hard every day and there hasn’t been one time I haven’t seen him at 100% effort which is what I respect the most about him. He’s always getting better and he’s always improving because of that fact.”
In his capacity as a Webb City community member Jones had “the opportunity to coach up some younger kids at our future cardinals camp and our hog pride camp” this past summer.
When he isn’t on the field Jones is “apart of the Fellowship of Christ Athletes or FCA. We have meetings every Wednesday morning. It’s a great time to learn that extra but about the gospel, spend time with my family in Christ, and of course enjoy the fellowship. I also am in debate club as well as the class. I was able qualify to MSHSAA state last year.”
