The Golden City Lady Eagles approach the 2026 volleyball season with optimism, determination and a stronger base of varsity experience. After finishing the previous season 2-25-2, the Eagles return five starters who gained valuable time on the court and are eager to build from it. That experience matters for a program focused on taking the next step, because returning players can carry forward the lessons learned from difficult matches and use them to create greater confidence this fall.

Head coach Dawn Davis has a team that is emphasizing continued improvement and a higher level of competition. The returning starters give Golden City a measure of continuity, while the program’s developing chemistry and positive attitude create an encouraging environment for growth. A year-round club volleyball player, Doke brings prior experience, a strong work ethic and a positive attitude as she begins her high school career. Her arrival gives the Lady Eagles another option on the outside and adds fresh energy to a roster that already has a group of returning starters.

Doke’s determination, teamwork and competitive drive match the qualities Golden City hopes to establish throughout its program. As a freshman, she will have the chance to learn from players with varsity experience while also contributing her own preparation and enthusiasm. That blend of returning players and a promising newcomer can create healthy competition in practice and encourage the entire group to keep improving.

The Lady Eagles’ focus is straightforward: use their experience, build stronger chemistry and compete with a positive mindset. Last season’s record does not define what this group can become. Instead, Golden City can use the five returning starters, Doke’s potential impact and the program’s commitment to development as building blocks.
