Jasper’s Carson Lehman – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Matt Sappington Shelter Insurance

Carson Lehman doesn’t shy away from a challenge, he runs toward it. A senior at Jasper High School, Lehman has built his reputation as a three-sport athlete in football, basketball, and baseball, thriving in moments of the highest pressure. Whether he’s on the field, court, or diamond, his competitive drive is the constant that ties everything together.

“The thrill of competition is what motivates me.”

That mindset shows up in the work he puts in year-round. Lehman credits countless hours in the weight room and time spent sharpening his skills across all three sports as the foundation of his success. It’s not just about showing up on game day, it’s about preparation long before the spotlight hits.

“Hard work in the weight room and on the basketball court, the football and baseball field, that’s what it takes.”

Behind that work ethic is a strong influence at home. Lehman points to his father as his biggest role model, someone who continues to push him and believe in what he can achieve. That support has helped shape both his confidence and his discipline.

“My father pushes me to be successful and believes in me.”

Competition fuels him in another way, too, especially when it comes to familiar rivals. Games against Lockwood carry extra meaning, with friendships on the other side adding intensity to every matchup. In practice, he finds that same edge going up against teammate Treyton Ritchhart, who brings out the best in him.

“I enjoy beating Lockwood because I have a bunch of friends that play there.”

“Treyton Ritchhart makes things competitive in practice.”

Off the field, Lehman stays involved in Future Farmers of America while keeping up with the demands of being a multi-sport athlete. Balancing it all comes down to accountability and consistency in the classroom.

“Just keep up and get it done.”

As a 2024-2025 Second Team All-District catcher, Lehman has already earned recognition, but what stands out most is how he represents Jasper. He plays with gratitude, always aware of the community backing him.

“To represent my school means being thankful to all the supporters who come out to watch us play.”
