The Webb City boys golf program enters the 2026 season focused on honoring its tradition while turning the page to a new chapter under head coach Trey Derryberry. With a mix of returning lettermen and new faces, the Cardinals are aiming to build on a strong foundation that has kept Webb City among the state’s most consistent programs.

“The 2026 Webb City golf team is looking to continue on the tradition that has been set before them,” Derryberry said. “This group will include lettermen from previous seasons and a host of new faces.”

That balance of experience and opportunity has been a defining characteristic of Webb City golf, and Derryberry believes the culture within the program is as important as the scores posted on the course.

“The group we have returning is a great group of golfers but even better people,” he said. “Excited to get to coach them this upcoming season.”

Webb City is coming off another successful spring, highlighted by a state-qualifying campaign in 2025. The Cardinals were led by a senior class that set the standard for competitive excellence and consistency throughout the year.

“In the spring of 2025, the golf team was led by a fantastic senior class,” Derryberry said. “Webb City golf is coming off another state-qualifying season.”

At the forefront of that run were Jackson Pickett and Jackson Lucas, who both qualified for the MSHSAA Class 4 State Championship and helped push the program forward at the highest level of competition.

Alongside them, Drew Woodmansee and Derek Wagner played key roles in Webb City’s success and were integral pieces of a senior group that leaves big shoes to fill.

“Other members of this group we are looking to replace are Drew Woodmansee and Derek Wagner,” Derryberry said.

As the Cardinals prepare for the upcoming season, the focus remains on growth, development, and maintaining the standard that has defined Webb City golf. With returning lettermen, new contributors ready to step in, and a coaching staff committed to the process, Webb City looks poised to once again be a factor in postseason play while continuing to represent the program’s tradition with pride.
