Q&A With Webb City’s Holton Keith – Presented by Roderique Insurance Agency LLC

By Ken Hansard

Webb City High School senior basketball player and student / athlete Holton Keith spoke to VYPE SPORTS in a recent interview.

VYPE SPORTS: What are your personal goals for the year?

Keith: I would like to win the COC and make a deep run in the playoffs. Also, I’d just like to play well as a team and win as many games as we can.

VYPE SPORTS: What is your favorite athletic memory?

Keith: When we beat Francis Howell in the championship and won the Joplin Kaminsky Tournament my sophomore year.

VYPE SPORTS: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Keith: I would say either Barron Duda or Eli Pace.  They both have pushed me every day in practice to keep working hard and to get better. They have also just been great friends to me as well.

VYPE SPORTS: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

Keith: I enjoy the camaraderie between my teammates and coaches. I also love how we all come together as a whole and can have fun and enjoy each other, while at the same time working towards accomplishing our goal to win games.

VYPE SPORTS: What clubs, community groups, or campus groups are you involved with and why?

Keith: I played for MO Legacy’s 17u AAU basketball team this year because playing during the summer is great for exposure – and it also helps to better prepare for high school basketball.

VYPE SPORTS: What accolades (in any sport or activity) are you most proud of?

Keith: I am most proud of making the All-Area First Team, the All-District Team, and All COC Second Team.

VYPE SPORTS: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Keith: How to stay focused on the tasks at hand and how to be disciplined in whatever I’m doing.

VYPE SPORTS: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

Keith: That we should do everything with all our might as unto the Lord.

VYPE SPORTS: Who inspires you and why?

Keith: Both of my parents inspire me because I admire all their hard work, and I want to be like them someday.

VYPE SPORTS: Here is your chance to give a shout out or say thank you to anyone you wish.

Keith: I’d like to give thanks to Jesus Christ, my Lord and savior.  I’d also like to say thank you to my parents, coaches, family, and friends.
