Republic High School’s boys’ varsity basketball team enters the 2025–26 season with the look of a group built for big moments, combining experienced guards, size in the frontcourt, and a deep rotation that reflects the strength of the program in southwest Missouri. Competing in a demanding schedule night after night, the Tigers have constructed a roster that can win in a variety of ways, from grinding defensive battles to fast-paced offensive showcases.
At the heart of this team is a senior-led backcourt that sets the competitive tone. Guard Brenley Hagewood returns as one of the area’s premier playmakers, capable of creating his own shot, getting to the rim, and orchestrating the offense with poise. Alongside him, wing Davin Parks brings length and versatility, sliding between positions, defending multiple spots, and providing reliable scoring on the perimeter. Multi-sport standout CJ Uhl adds toughness and leadership, the kind of physical, competitive presence that shows up in loose balls, rebounds, and big defensive stops late in games.
Behind that veteran core, Republic enjoys the luxury of meaningful depth. Juniors such as Brody Blades and Trenten Coleman are part of an emerging crop of upperclassmen who provide scoring punch, perimeter shooting, and fresh energy off the bench or in starting roles. Underclassmen filling out the roster give the Tigers options in terms of size and athleticism, including a frontcourt presence listed around 6-foot-7 who can block shots, rebound, and anchor the paint on both ends. That depth allows Republic to sustain its intensity over four quarters and through the grind of tournaments and conference play.
On the floor, Republic’s identity is rooted in discipline and togetherness. Offensively, the Tigers emphasize ball movement, spacing, and unselfish play, working to turn defensive stops into transition opportunities while still valuing strong half-court execution. Defensively, they aim to make every possession difficult, using their size inside and active guards on the perimeter to disrupt rhythm and force contested shots. Early-season highlight packages and December performances show a group competing at a high level against quality opponents, reinforcing expectations that Republic will contend deep into the postseason. With senior leadership, real depth, and a clear identity, the Tigers are positioned to deliver another memorable winter for their community.
