Webb City High School senior point guard and student / athlete Eli Pace spoke to VYPE SPORTS in a recent interview.
VYPE SPORTS: What are your personal goals for the year?
Pace: I want our team to win at least 20 games this year, and I want to serve my teammates as the best possible leader I can possibly be.
VYPE SPORTS: What is your favorite athletic memory?
Pace: I think my favorite memory is just my junior season as a whole, because nobody thought we were going to have the year we did, and our group of guys was so fun to be around and play with.
VYPE SPORTS: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Pace: I would say my team in general. All my teammates have left a big impression on me. In the past, some of the upperclassmen who took me under their wing were Joe Adams, Barron Duda, and Omari Jackson.
VYPE SPORTS: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
Pace: I like how close everyone is. We all have a bond that is more than just the one that is associated with basketball. Everyone is fun to be around.
VYPE SPORTS: What accolades (in any sport or activity) are you most proud of?
Pace: I am most proud of us winning 20 games last year.
VYPE SPORTS: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Pace: You have to work hard for everything. Never give up.
VYPE SPORTS: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
Pace: Don’t be afraid to make mistakes.
VYPE SPORTS: Who inspires you and why?
Pace: My sister. She is always positive and makes sure everyone around her is always okay.
VYPE SPORTS: Here is your chance to give a shout out or say thank you to anyone you wish.
Pace: I love you mom!
