Q&A with Diamond’s Grace Frazier – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by BDR CPA

Diamond’s Grace Frazier won our poll for Outstanding Girls Basketball Player with 13,622 votes from the community. Each poll winner is then featured in their own article where we spotlight that athlete’s life and accomplishments.

PREP SPORTS: What are your personal goals for the year?

My personal goals for this year are to average 5.5 assists and 4 steals a game. For the team my goal is to lead Diamond to their first state appearance.

PREP SPORTS: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite athletic memory is winning Districts last year at home, and seeing the support of our community.

PREP SPORTS: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

The teammate that’s left the biggest impact on me is Caitlyn Suhrie, she is my #1 fan and pushes me the hardest.

PREP SPORTS: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

My favorite part about being on this team is that I get the opportunity to develop a winning mindset year round with these girls and build close relationships with them which creates great team chemistry.

PREP SPORTS: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?

I also play volleyball and softball! Our programs at Diamond are great and well rounded. I’m a part of Diamond FFA, NHS, and FCA. I played AAU basketball with MO Legacy for 3 years, coached by Teejay Britton. This program developed not only my basketball skills but also brought me closer to God and blessed me with life long friendships!

PREP SPORTS: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Basketball has taught me many things but the main thing is that failure is a part of life. Everyone will reach failure in their life, and what matters is how you respond to it and get better.

PREP SPORTS: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

The best advice anyone has given me is from Teejay Britton. He has always told me that hard work always pays off and most importantly that basketball can change your life, it shouldn’t be your life.

PREP SPORTS: Who inspires you and why?

The people who inspire me the most is my family. They’ve always done everything they can to support me. They are all my biggest fans and have shown me more love than anyone could ask for.

PREP SPORTS: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

I would like to thank all of my coaches throughout my time of playing basketball. Thank you for seeing things in me I couldn’t see myself and pouring into me. I would also like to thank my family for giving me all of their support. Lastly I would like to thank God for the gifts he has given me and the opportunity to play this game.
