Q&A with Webb City’s Steve Kenlee – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by the First Baptist Church of Webb City

Webb City swimmer Steve Kenlee recently spoke with VYPE in an interview about his life.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

As of right now while I do take my athletics important I am mainly focusing on my class work and applying for college.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite athletic ability was competing against my fellow teammate and having a rivalry.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

My best friend and fellow senior Aiden made everything much more interesting even when things felt very tedious.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

My favorite part being on the team is having people to help push yourself to do better as well as having people to have fun with.

VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?

I joined many other sports groups in order to try them as well as the science club due to my interests in science.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Not everyone will care if you work hard and do your best, but at the end of the day those people won’t affect your life.

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

It’s normal to feel like giving up, and it’s not a bad thing, but you must know why you want to give up. Do you believe your reason is a good one?

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

I am inspired by many people. I mainly take inspiration from people who are willing to see change.
